Intro to SIP

Hi there - As I mentioned earlier, here I would like to take chance in introducing SIP - a signaling protocol widely used in the current Telecommunications world. SIP is a well known signaling protocol for controlling multimedia sessions  such as voice/video calls over Internet Protocol (IP) networks. SIP - SIP stands for S ession I nitiation P rotocol - It is a very lite signaling communications protocol used for establishing sessions in an IP network. A session could be referred as a simple two-way voice call (or) a collaborative conference multimedia call. - Simply, SIP is a mechanism to establish, modify and tear down the multimedia sessions.  - SIP is a protocol which resembles HTTP ( H yper T ext T ransfer P rotocol) - The reason it became very famous because of its simplicity to program, troubleshoot and integrate. Hello, I am really excited to launch this "Telecom Tech Source" blog, because this blog is going to be very useful for folks who are looking for more technical help in Telecommunications especially Unified Communications. Coming to me, I had 7 Years of AVAYA Technical Support Experience. I hope you have got an answer by now, why I did chose this kind of blog? Yes, you are right! Still left with plenty of questions in mind about this blog and future posts/pages -- such as: - How to organize the content of this blog? - Is it OKAY if I first start posting about AVAYA EPBX or not? I already wasted lot of time thinking about the content of this blog and the way I organize it. Now, without any delay, I am going to launch this blog first and will make the changes in blog's content to bring a more structured way. I would also seek your feedback and suggestions.
